Largemouth bass

Plastic worm

Largemouth bass tend to hide out in weed beds during sunny weather, which is why a plastic worm is a great option. The worms mimic the movement of prey, and when paused, they fall to the bottom of the water column, making them irresistible to the bass.

For the best chance at success, launch your boat at the Hyde Lake Boat Launch in Shelby Farms Park. From there, head to the northwest corner of the lake and begin casting towards the weed beds. Be patient and wait for the bass to strike.
