Snook are known to be a predatory fish, especially at dawn and dusk, and will often chase moving prey that makes noise on the water's surface. This technique mimics the behavior of wounded baitfish that snook are known to prey on, making it an effective way to attract the fish.

The best place to launch a boat is at Matheson Hammock Park, which has a boat ramp and provides access to the nearby inshore waters where snook can be found.
